calling all heroes

i worked at vacation bible school this week. that's why i haven't posted! i worked there every morning and came home and crashed for a few hours every afternoon! this kid is too cute...unfortunately, he was in my mom's class. i had 5 year old boys and learned a valuable lesson...i will never teach 5 year old boys again!

kung fu fighting

today was a fun day. i went to my friends' house for lunch with my mom. my friends are 5, 3, and somewhere between 1 and 2. oh yeah, these are 3 of the 4 coolest little kids in the world that used to be on my list on here. i guess their mom is my friend too, since she's the one that really invited us. we had tomato soup, pasta salad, cantaloupe and blueberries, and a brownie with "whoop cream" and strawberries for dessert. i'm very thankful my allergies have changed over the past year or so, or i would've been a very bad guest and gone home very hungry. all three of them are very funny (even though the youngest doesn't actually SAY much) and very well-behaved. i think they have pretty much the best manners i have ever seen. i would absolutely have kids right now if i could be guaranteed they'd be as good as these kids! i get to spend a week in mexico with my other cool kid in a few weeks. he isn't as well-behaved as these three, but just as cute and funny! after lunch k-dogg and i went to see kung fu panda. it was good, way better than shrek 3 which was the last dreamworks movie i saw. i'm still not sure what kind of animal their master is, and one fight scene was a little too scary for little kids, i thought. probably would not have even noticed if my 3 year-old friend hadn't just told me that the brother bear soundtrack has a "bad, scary song" on it. but it was really funny and cute and not full of double-meaning jokes that really shouldn't be in animated movies in the first place! by the time the movie was over, it was time to eat again, so we went to my favorite italian place and split a really unusual dessert. we normally get tiramisu, but tried the raspberry pyramid this time. it's a pyramid made of white chocolate. when you cut into the shell, it has cake and cream and raspberries inside! unfortunately for my sister, bean, both this place and our favorite pizza place will be closed the week she's here to visit! guess we'll have to come up with a back-up plan!

those lazy hazy crazy days of summer

wake up around 10 or 11, watch gilmore girls if i'm awake, computer time, watch soaps and read, wander around aimlessly, try to do at least one errand, project or task, watch tv, maybe eat dinner, watch basketball or something stupid, go to bed. wake up and start again...even if we had the money...i could not be a stay at home wife. do i seriously need 11-12 hours of sleep every night and if so...how do i function during school?

what's going down

so, wednesday was bean's birthday and she finally got the last of the 25 presents i sent her. i stayed home all day and didn't do much. banjo ran away again. thursday, i ironed at my house for the first time since august when i was ironing and that stupid mouse ran at me turning my whole world upside down for a while. i found mold all over our patio, so i tried to bleach some of it, but it's going to take a few days. then we went to a wedding rehearsal way out in the middle of nowhere. i got to play with my friend's one year old daughter, so i stayed entertained. yesterday, k-dogg was off work and i THOUGHT we were going to do yard work...finally, but he had other plans. those plans were to do nothing but play computer games and watch tv. last night i went out with some friends to alley fest to eat pizza, watch some bands, and shop. i finally got to see junior play! they're a local band that's been around since i was probably in middle school and i always wanted to see them, but i couldn't get in to most of their shows, then when i was old enough, they started playing away and just got bigger and bigger. but, i finally got to see them last night. they were pretty good considering they didn't have time for a soundcheck or to tune! somehow, we went from standing in line to get henna tattoos to going to a real tattoo studio. matt's pretty much covered, and he decided he wants another one for his birthday. they tried to get me to get one, but i honestly didn't see anything i liked, and i wouldn't do that without k-dogg being with me or at least knowing about it ahead of time! that brings me to now...i just woke up. banjo is still gone, i still have jungle in my front yard, and the wedding is this afternoon. but, my house is clean and all of my laundry is done! and bean will be here in 3 weeks! oh, i forgot...i tried to make cinnamon rolls yesterday...has this ever happened to you...
the metal lid for the icing was stuck to one of the rolls, and i didn't notice until AFTER they came out of the oven!

haven't really been a big fan of the color pink in a long time, i know i have more pink around my house, i just didn't want to go looking for it! now for the new hair
oh yeah, i guess this can count for pink too, since my tongue is sticking out.
yep, i got a blue streak in my hair! it will have to be gone when i go back to work in mid-august. but for now, i have blue hair! blame my mother...she got purple in her hair for her birthday! i like the rest of it too. i let my hair go without any color on it for a while...i don't like my real hair color. i just wanted to see what it looked like since i hadn't really seen it completely natural since maybe high school. it's now maple and blue. the maple color is really dark and for once, my hair didn't turn red when it was colored!
