marvelous things

Christmas is over and i'm tired. i was sick last weekend. finally felt better around tuesday. good thing, because that's when Christmas hit! we had breakfast that morning at my grandma's. not my favorite way to kick off a morning when i'm off work, but pancakes and bacon beat out regular Christmas food any time! Christmas Eve was pretty laid back. we went to church, the a-team read the Christmas story with their mom and dad. the one in kindergarten prayed after the story on the microphone in front of all those people. he's usually pretty shy, but i really think he's going to be a missionary or a pastor when he's older. my other little friends, 911, doolittle, and piggies gave me a webkinz frog for Christmas! they were practically bouncing off the walls after church because they were so excited about Christmas. then we went over the river and through the woods to k-dogg's aunt's house. we ate and then opened gifts. that's always a big production. you can't just hand your gift to whoever it's for. they all have some kind of goofy presentation and then when you get your gift everyone watches you open it. k-dogg's aunt had my name this year. she got me good stuff...kung fu panda and cars on dvd, a new computer keyboard, and the collins big book of art. all stuff straight from the list i filled out. k-dogg's grandma loved the earrings he gave her and wore them the next day to show everyone what her grandson picked out for her all by himself! if only she knew! k-dogg and i opened presents again when we got home. he got me the fourth twilight book so now i can finally finish the story! my other gift from him was a box of tinsel. he conspired against me with my mom and my real present was at my mom and dad's house! i guess that's what i get for being a notorious gift snooper and peeker every year! i must have been really good this year though, because k-dogg got me an awesome gift...frye boots! not just any boots, but the exact ones i wanted in the right size, style, color...everything! and my mom got me a pair of toms shoes so i now have very happy feet! k-dogg wasn't real thrilled that my parents got me the entire series of the cosby show on dvd, but he'll live. he got a firepit so he was happy. yesterday, my mom and i braved the crowds and the disgusting weather for after-Christmas deals. wrapping paper, ornaments, and decor, oh my! it was fun and we didn't go too crazy, just a little bit. now that i've slept all day and started packing up everything, we're about to go see the curious case of benjamin button and then go eat at ihop...more pancakes! and a whole week off work with nothing planned! yea!

Christmastime is here

i have nothing to do tomorrow until church in the evening. all my presents are wrapped, we've already had Christmas at my grandma's...that was the usual experience. i don't have to make any food for anything. i think i'm going to see if k-dogg will quit playing animal crossing and let me watch a movie. we finally got to go out to eat for our anniversary. my favorite italian place was closed for Christmas, so we went to buffalo wild wings. surprisingly, we had really good service and it didn't take forever. then we went to the mall to see auttie, but we couldn't find her. all the people everywhere were about to give me a panic attack, so we went to sears and rode the escalator. then we decided we may save some money and get an air hockey table or one of those tables that has 2 or 3 different games. it could go in the kitchen instead of the dining table. we've been here almost a year and a half, and the only time we've eaten at the table was last month for thanksgiving. anyway, i think i'll go watch love actually now. if i don't get back here before thursday...Merry Christmas!

i can see clearly now

wow, what a bad weekend. but, i woke up this morning and feel a lot better. i'm actually sore from having to stay on the couch so long. i ate some cereal and did some laundry. i should probably take a shower next. that would probably help! i'm still a little dizzy, but i went to work for 3 days last week dizzier than i am now. still not sure how i did that. i need to go to cvs and figure out what happened to the medicine i thought i ordered last week. i still haven't wrapped any presents or bought anything for my grandma. i think my cousins (jabba and frozenfeet) are coming in from houston today. they are 20 and almost 18 now! that's crazy. i used to buy them and my other cousin (luwaco) that's also 20 anything they wanted for Christmas. if they wanted a cd or a toy they knew their moms wouldn't get them, they told me and i got it for them. but, when they were about 12, i told them they were old enough to start giving presents on their own and not just adding their names on what my aunts gave me. so, we made a deal, no more presents from me until they bought me something, too. so, i haven't had to buy them anything for the past 8 years! i got jabba and luwaco a present when they turned 18 and when they graduated, but nothing for Christmas. i actually wasn't sure frozenfeet would ever get to his senior year, but he's there...so he'll probably get a good graduation gift! i only have 1 cousin that's older than me. he's the one that used to torture me and bean when we were little. i've never bought him anything. but, i love buying stuff for his 3 boys even though i only see them maybe once a year. little d is definitely paying him back for anything he ever did when he was growing up! i went to see them for Christmas at our aunt's house last year. that will not be happening this year. i don't know, but i just think your mom's dad should at least say hi to you on Christmas after he hasn't seen you in almost 10 years. maybe i'm weird, but i think most people would agree withe me. so, i'm not going this year. i have enough to do anyway. like update my blog, finish shopping, and go out to dinner with k-dogg since i totally missed our anniversary yesterday.

i finally reinstalled my camera software on my new computer so i have some pictures to share...

this is me and my friend, doolittle, at our church Christmas party

these are the clipboards i made for my friends at work. 10 clipboards at once is too many!

yesterday was probably the worst day of my life ever. apparently, it's not a good idea to run out of your anti-anxiety medicine and forget to get the refill. it does all kinds of things like make your head spin and not let you sit up for two days and see things that aren't there, but not see things that are there...like the coffee table. it's also not a good idea to run into your coffee table. i kept falling asleep and couldn't tell the difference between a dream and real life. i was hot and cold off and on all day and would get really mad or start crying for no reason. yeah...fun way to start the Christmas vacation. still don't have my medicine. k-dogg went to get the refill, but they told him they didn't refill it even though i sent it in on monday. they will try to fax my doctor tomorrow. which is so stupid since my doctor and the pharmacy are in the same parking lot!

one week

where did this week go? i haven't posted since the day before thanksgiving! so, thanksgiving was great. we had my mom and dad over and it was one of the best thanksgivings ever. i wish bean and jbaby had been here, but otherwise it was good. my heavenly sweet potatoes and my german chocolate cheesecake were awesome. i don't care if that sounds conceited, it's just the truth. we played sorry and k-dogg got mad at a play my dad and i pulled on him. it was pretty funny, if he hadn't been mad! the titans won...not a big surprise since they were playing detroit! black friday wasn't too exciting. we got up at 4, went to kohl's, walked around the store twice and left to go stand in line at target. target opened at 6am, we grabbed about 10 movies and some shirts and were out of there by 6:15. visited auttie at b&bw because we all know i can never have enough wallfowers! my mom and i went back to the stores later, saw some family, i ordered some stuff from old navy. saturday night ruined my weekend. we had another mouse in the house! i didn't have this blog last time that happened, but just know i have a serious phobia of rodents and take anti-anxiety medicine because of it. i don't remember the first 6 weeks or so of the school year last year. it's bad. anyway, i ended up on my parents' couch around midnight and left k-dogg home to catch the problem. thankfully, we caught it sunday night so i was able to stay home. so, between the lack of sleep from the weekend, me being mad at my students over their lack of motivation during the recent benchmark, having breakfast duty at 7:30 every day, and having to be observed tuesday...my week didn't get off to the greatest start. i got new glasses tuesday. it was so funny how many people said they had never noticed i wore glasses until i got my new ones. i've worn glasses since i was 3, people! i was really looking forward to the church Christmas party wednesday night. but, it's kinda hard to have a party in the gym without electricity, so we had to head back home. yesterday was k-dogg's 28th birthday! he ended up with 8 episodes of MST3K on dvd...woohoo. we went out to eat at tgifridays for his b-day dinner. if you know where we live and where the nearest tgif is, you know what a big deal that is. so, everyone should be caught up on everything going on. oh yeah, i got a good secret santa this year...i got a whole box of annie's cheddar bunnies and a 2 liter coke this week! my computer/craft room is finally clean and organized, it's amazing what a little mouse will motivate you to do! i have a workshop monday...so no school! and...BEAN WILL BE HERE IN ONE WEEK! YEA!

something to look forward to...pictures of my new glasses and the ghetto Christmas tree my students decorated in my classroom...i gotta reinstall my camera software soon!

philadelphia

as in the cream cheese and the b.b. king song. thanksgiving dinner is here tomorrow. the turkey has been picked up, my mom made the dressing and is bringing the cranberry sauce. k-dogg's pink stuff is in the fridge. ( dislike that stuff even more after i had to make it and know what's in it!) i'm making the sweet potatoes and the green bean casserole tomorrow morning. all that's left is my german chocolate cheesecake. so, there's 3 packages of philadelphia cream cheese softening on my counter right now. i spent most of the day finishing a new blanket for k-dogg and hunting for my napkin rings. my dad said not to worry about the napkin rings, we're just going to unroll the napkins as soon as we sit down to eat. then my mom explained that my whole color scheme and centerpiece for thanksgiving came from those napkin rings. i finally found them in a box i had already looked in twice. i think it's time to finish cleaning my craft room. yesterday was fun. we went to eat vietnamese food and then went to play at the park. definitely not a typical day. now i need to stop procrastinating and make that cheesecake before criminal minds comes on. have to have my weekly dose of dr. reed, garcia, and morgan.

school's out

i'm free! we have a whole week off from work! so far we've been to see twilight, went to eat at my favorite place with one of our friends we haven't seen in a while, and have stayed in our pajamas all day today! i also went to hobby lobby and ross by myself. i don't like to go to ross with anyone, i can't hunt as well with people with me. i was looking for stuff for secret santa, but ended up coming home with a new sweater and teva tennis shoes. oh well. i did get some secret santa stuff at hobby lobby and some craft stuff. i got a ceramic pumpkin for 20 cents. and i got a cardboard thing that i was thinking was a Christmas tree, but after i showed it to k-dogg, we decided it can also be a megaphone, a party hat, a horn, a beak, or a vase. i'm still thinking it's going to be a tree. i finally finished rereading a time to kill. it wouldn't have taken so long if i hadn't read the first three twilight books while i was still reading it. the twilight books are way better than the movie. i liked the movie...i just think the books are better. the movie changed a few things i thought should not have been changed. i finished half of a baby blanket. i'll probably finish the rest while i'm watching amazing race later. my mom has requested pictures of the blanket, i'll have to see if i can figure out how to get my camera program back on my computer. my computer died last week! completely flatlined. but, i'm married to a computer tech, so we had an extra computer in the closet. it's even faster than the one i was using. k-dogg was able to save all of my pictures and itunes, but he didn't put my camera software back for me. it shouldn't be too hard, i just haven't done it yet. my titans lost today, i'm glad i don't have to face my students tomorrow to hear them bug me about it. tomorrow i'm going to the eye doctor for a check up and to order new glasses. mine are missing the nose cushions and are really bent up. probably from falling asleep on the couch all the time. right now i need to go switch the laundry over. i came home really mad from work on friday and tried to use my anger for housework energy, but then we left to go to the movie so the same clothes have been in the washer and dryer since friday night! i just started over again. that way i won't have to iron as much and the wet clothes won't smell funny!

it's not over

haha, you think i have time for a real post the week before thanksgiving!?!? just wanted to say that at 1:30 tomorrow i will be free for 9 days! woo hoo! tomorrow night we're going to see twilight! and i made the best dessert for the thanksgiving lunch at work...the german chocolate cheesecake was a huge success!

the thrill is gone

that thrill being shopping on saturday afternoons with my mom. we went today and it was not a pleasant experience. my mom wanted a plate from pier one. when we asked about it the girl said that they were out because a lady had come in right before us and bought both of them...since when do you run out of something by one person buying two of them!?!? then we went to kohl's. that was actually a good store. i helped my mom pick out some presents for bean and jbaby and i got to pick a present for myself too. but, then we ran into my grandma and my aunt in the parking lot. they were returning the birthday present my mom had given my grandma...awkward! target was ok, got some of those heated sticker things for the muscle i strained in my back. lunch was good and the waitress was scared of my mom so that was funny. got some cute stuff and had fun looking at all the crazy stuff in the store next door. that's when we should have gone home. i've been made the unofficial shopper for school uniforms for our closet at school. people at church and work have donated a lot of money to help out some families. problem is...most stores consider school uniforms to be seasonal items and they are really hard to find. which is how we ended up at wal-mart. that is why my mom and i have decided that saturdays will now be reserved for crafting until Christmas is over. we had to wait for a buggy, there were screaming and crying kids everywhere, but you'd cry too if your trashy, tattooed, stupid parents were hitting you all over the store. we found some clothes and i got an awesome kermit the frog Christmas shirt. we found a line that wasn't insanely long, no kids were in the line, just one lady and then an old man with one item. but, outta no where his wife cut in front of us with a buggy full of stuff! he had just been standing there holding her place in line while she was shopping. the poor girl checking was supposed to be leaving soon, but her manager came by and reopened her lane without telling her. the old lady tried to tell my mom that we had to move because the lane was closed, so my mom told her we weren't going anywhere because we would already be checking out if she hadn't cut in front of us! then that stupid manager took the people BEHIND us and let them go to a new lane that had just opened and the redneck laughed at us when they walked by. we finally got out of there and were trying to leave, but this trashy person was walking through the parking lot right in our way and not even paying attention because she was too busy yelling at and hitting the little girl with her. all i can say is ARGH!!! i am so glad i did most of my shopping online or during the week and i'm already finished Christmas shopping! every year our saturday shopping is ruined by all these crazy people who only shop during this time of year and have no idea how to act in public. they cut you off in the parking lot, they walk right down the middle of the aisle so you can't drive around them. they bring the whole smelly, loud, inbred family with them. and do a wonderful job to perpetuate the whole texas redneck stereotype. they totally trash my holiday spirit and it's not even thanksgiving yet! i will still go shopping on black friday. that's just too much fun. when you go out as early as i do, it's mostly people that are good at shopping. most of the trash is still home sleeping off their hangovers. or they're at walmart fighting over some cheap electronic device they have no idea how to connect or use anyway. but other than that, my shopping is finished for the year. good thing i have a stack of crafts and books to keep me busy!

motownphilly

ok, the title has nothing to do with the post, that's just what i'm listening to right now. and, how often does anyone get to use that word? i'm working on organizing and cleaning up my craft/computer room so i'm listening to my "energy" playlist on itunes. it's mostly hip-hop/rap with a little pop and alternative mixed in. and somehow the miranda lambert song, gunpowder and lead, is on there. not sure how that got there since I DON'T LISTEN TO COUNTRY. but, i have that song, a taylor swift song, some josh turner, the new darius rucker (yes, from hootie and the blowfish fame), and a song called cheater, cheater by joey and rory. that's mostly on there because it was free, really funny, and reminded me of my friend susu that just got a divorce! but, what good is an ipod if you can't have all your guilty pleasure songs on there? mine just happens to be all over the place...christina aguilara, josh groban, spice girls, limp bizket, toby mac, nelly, mc hammer, and puddle of mudd. i don't want to leave anything out! really, i want to see how many genres i end up with! i need to get back to the cleaning and organizing. school has me stressed out so i'm putting the anger and stress to good use. i'm so glad i have a workshop to go to tomorrow.

looking at the world from the bottom of a well

i am so glad tomorrow is friday. this has not been a great week. this is pretty much the total opposite of a thankful thursday list. i went home sick from work on monday. should've stay home tuesday, but i didn't. pastor o passed away tuesday. there has been some weird tension around everywhere since the election results came in. my parents were gone to visit my sister. my afternoon classes have been so bad that i've had to lock the door to keep them in and other kids out, pile on huge amounts of work, give them a new seating chart, and not let them talk at all. it stresses me out when i have to be that mean, but they deserve it right now. i still don't feel great. i'm about to go take a shower and go to bed so that maybe i can get to work on time. tomorrow is yearbook picture day...woohoo! on a happier note, look at these glasses i ordered from crate and barrel!

when we all get to heaven

this is pastor ovidio, the pastor at the church we go to in the summer to help with VBS. other than my pastor, he is one of the Godliest men i have ever met. he passed away from a heart attack yesterday. he's been really sick for a while, so i'm happy he's not in pain anymore, but i'm sad for his wife, raquel, and their three sons. he never did learn any english, but i know we'll talk again, someday!

this is ovidio jr. he hates having his picture taken and would've hid if he knew i took this!
this is erik. erik is probably my best friend in mexico. he's going to be under a lot of pressure now because it will be his job to take over the church. he teaches math 4 hours away from home, but he goes home every weekend to help at church. erik and ovidio have another brother named alex. alex and his wife have a cute little boy who will probably not even remember pastor o now. please keep my friends and their family and church in your prayers.

working for the weekend

the rest of my weekend... i left school early friday to set up for the tea. i don't like teaching middle school on halloween, so i was glad to leave early. friday night we played our big rivals and we lost. i still got some good pictures though. yesterday my parents left to go visit bean in california. i went on a mad dash to find a plain white napkin because i was missing one. finally found one at big lots along with some gold chargers, some dvds, and MINTY BELLS! minty bells are just as important to Christmas as mellowcreme pumpkins are to halloween. the tea was great. very nice and relaxing, met some new people, drank some tea. should have ended my day there. i put together a good costume for the masquerade ball. some people thought i was supposed to be a gypsy or an indian. one person asked if i was supposed to be my mom! but, i was just a hippie. the dance was so boring that i left early. the music wasn't good and the kids weren't having fun. k-dogg and i went to ihop. i tried some lemon and blueberry coffee cake pancakes. they were really good for a while. not so good later when we had to stop in the parking lot at this big church on the way home because i was sick. but, at least we got to see 3 deer while we were there. they were standing there staring at me the whole time! so, today i've stayed home all day. plus, the longhorns lost yesterday. not good. but at least the titans won in overtime this afternoon! i'm going to go watch the cowboys lose and get ready for the amazing race and the season finale of army wives now. i've sat up as long as i can right now.

peace!

english tea

part of my busy weekend, and the reason i'm sick now, was the ladies holiday tea at church yesterday. my mom and bean weren't able to be there, so i told them i'd take lots of pictures.

stars

i finally took pictures of the socks i got from the queenofeverything in the sock swap! i like them all, but the frog-u-la ones are my favorites. i'm going to wear them friday. and i think i may wear the pink ones on thursday for colorful sock day. it's red ribbon week at school. today was don't let drugs tie you down, so we wore ties. i looked like a hostess at olive garden in my black pants and shirt with a tie. i wore my dad's grateful dead tie with egyptian hieroglyphics. one of my students asked if my tie had kitchen utensils on it! normally, i'd be getting ready for bed, but the titans are on monday night football so i need to stay up to see if i can talk smack tomorrow or if i'll have to listen to a bunch of smack. being a titans fan where i live is not easy. even though they are the only undefeated team left in the nfl right now, everyone still bugs me for liking them over the cowboys. below is my real favorite team. i took some pictures of the drum battle and the game from friday. i can't believe some of those huge football players used to be in my class when they were 6th graders! i tell everyone that #22 learned everything he knows from me. he is awesome! i wish i was going to california to see bean this weekend, but she'll be here right before Christmas!

we didn't start the fire

i got my socks in the mail from the swap this week. i'll take pictures sometime this weekend. i'm not sure where my camera is right now. i have two ideas for the masquerade ball. they haven't advertised it at school yet, but i think they're still having it. yesterday was great. i went to a workshop that started at 9 and was over at 2. and we had 1 1/2 hours for lunch! i got to take a nap for over two hours and i'm halfway finished with twilight now. to balance out reading that...i ordered 9 books online today and it was only $24! yea for being a teacher and getting the cheap catalogs at school! every thing i ordered is either stuff i read in high school and college or stuff i probably SHOULD have read in college. i never really was too impressed with kc's english department. utt was WAY better. today was going ok until i left my kids just long enough for a quick trip to the restroom and when i got back....my room smelled like matches! one kid finally said he found a match on the floor and tried to strike it on a girl's notebook...not buying it! my room gets cleaned between 4th and 5th. my 5th period is good enough that if they had seen a match on the floor, they would have turned it in to me. the match was supposedly found 6th period. i never did find out what really happened. i just emailed the assistant principal and gave him everyone's name from that class and what they told me. i really think one of them was totally clueless. he never knows what's going on anytime. gotta go bundle up and get ready for the football game!

help!

I need a cheap and easy idea for the middle school masquerade ball. It will be part of a very busy weekend. We have a football game against our arch nemesis on halloween night, of course k-dogg will want to celebrate with friends, my parents are leaving to see my sister, the holiday tea at church is that saturday and my table has to be decorated either thursday or friday night. and...then we have the masquerade ball that saturday night! there's also a wedding that weekend that i just heard about, but i doubt i'll have time to go. if you have any ideas, please, do not suggest anything that involves wearing a sweatsuit or a trash bag...i've heard all of those costume ideas and don't like any of them. i'm also not a fan of scary costumes. i'm thinking of searching goodwill or going through my old clothes. any other ideas????

whatever you like

i went antique shopping today with k-dogg and my mom. took advantage of living in the antique capital of east texas. not sure i remember the last time the three of us went shopping together! i didn't buy anything there, but my mom found $20 on the ground, so we went to lunch at jason's deli. then we went to target and tjmaxx. my mom was on a mission for a blue colander she saw last weekend. she found an old one at one of the antique stores, so she ended up with 3 i think. i got a purse because k-dogg shares t.i.'s philosophy and lets me get whatever i like. we just don't quite have the same budget t.i. does! anyway, i got a little crafty this week and fixed up a plain silver candle holder i bought on clearance at hobbylobby this summer and a plain brown frame i got on clearance at target. i'm addicted to scrapbook paper and redoing stuff right now!

my new marc ecko red purse

the candle holder before and after, now i just need another square candle!

the before and after of my picture frame. i still don't have a craft table!

only in east texas!
documented proof that my husband and my mom went antique shopping together!

one week

so glad to see all of my blog friends were so worried about me choking myself with my ipod! :) anyway, nothing has really been going on. i went shopping last weekend even though i said i wasn't going to spend money. sunday i slept in and then did stuff around the house. monday i went to work, came home and took a nap. yesterday i went to work and then went to a go girls porch party. our family friend, anita, made me laugh so hard my stomach was hurting. i learned to not ever buy pantyhose at a garage sale. even if they have never been used, they may fall apart! today i went to work, came home and took a nap. i only woke up because i am itching all over and i don't know why! i told one of my friends at school that i am going to run away tomorrow at 6th period. i love my morning classes and 5th period. 6th and 8th are just horrible. i was so mad at my boys 6th period that i sent two of them to finish their work with one of the coaches and wrote an email to the head coach and the counselor telling them i want these boys out of my class! after a 10 minute push up and a public apology, they should be better tomorrow! being friends with the coaches is such a good thing! other than that and discovering wordle.net, nothing else has been going on. i don't have anything planned this weekend other than football.

headwires

just so you know...it's not a good idea to fall asleep while your ipod is still on. i have a sleep playlist. i listen to it to calm me down and get me to sleep when my mind is too busy. i think there are 12 songs on it and i remember listening to the first 9 last night. next thing i know, it's around 2:30 am, and i'm awake because my shoulder and my neck feel funny. guess it could be the ear buds cord that has wrapped around my neck and my right shoulder. and somehow, one of the ear buds was still in my ear. that's a feat when i'm awake, i don't know how it stayed there while i was asleep! this week at work has been pretty uneventful. essays, library day, and now i'm giving benchmarks. tomorrow we are going to the high school pep rally. i don't like going to those. the ones at the middle school are long enough. getting all of our students onto the buses, getting them seated in the gym, and then making sure they all catch the bus at the high school or get on the bus back to the middle school to be picked up is a nightmare. i can't go shopping this weekend so my plans are to go to the football game tomorrow night and then work on projects around the house. if my mom decides to go shopping, i guess i can go and just not buy anything. we'll see!

ain't nothin' wrong with that

just in case you ever wondered what i look like while i'm bored at my computer waiting for the big bang theory to come on and listening to one of my favorite songs......

there ya go...wonder no more!

three little birds

i'm back from trade days. way, way, way too many people, but i still got two good things. maybe i'll post pictures of them later. i'm too lazy to take pictures right now. anyway, i found something to do with my glitter birds. they're on the mantle in my living room. i stuffed some fall leaves from michaels into the tall tea light holders i got for Christmas last year and then sat them on top. it turned out way cute. i also wanted to show everyone my longhorns garden gnome. he's supposed to go outside, but my mom stuck him by the tv and the longhorns haven't lost a game yet, so he will be sitting next to the tv as long as they keep winning! i went to see my cousin cheer again last night. i'm so glad i didn't go to that school when i was in school! backwards, racist, redneck trash, not to mention they got their butts kicked! oh well, i was going to post a picture of her, but after i just said that about her school, i think i'll wait til another post! tell me what you think of my glitter birds. oh, and my eye is a lot better today.

99 red balloons

ok, so none of them were red, and there were over 1000, but see what happens when you try to do something fun for your students...we played water balloon dodge ball which meant kids bought balloons for 50 cents each and got to throw them at about 10 of us teachers. we could only throw back whatever didn't break when they threw a balloon at us! so it was about 10 unarmed teachers against at least 30 kids at a time armed with water balloons! it was fun until i got hit in the eye.

more later, i gotta get ready to go to canton!

all that glitters

ok, i tried a new crafty project. i stole the idea from graceviolet.com her blog is over there on the side of mine, so you should go visit her. anyway...

these are the birds i used. i got them at michael's. they kinda look dead here...

so here's a close-up so it doesn't look too morbid!

i covered it with martha stewart glittering glue...which is kinda misleading because the glue doesn't glitter!
then i covered them with martha stewart glitter. i did these with the three colors in the woodlands collection. i thought they looked autumnish, they match my living room, and i thought it was funny that i was using them for woodland creatures!

now they are hanging above my head on my ceiling fan drying. i got glitter all over the floor, but what's the point of a craft room if it doesn't get glitter on the floor? i'll post more pictures when they are dry and in the living room. gotta go find something to eat!
