2 new babies this weekend. that makes 5 babies for may! dcam and auttie have one of the prettiest babies i have ever seen. we went to see them at the hospital today after church. adelyn has long blonde hair and the nurses fixed her hair into a mohawk. it was cute. she kept stretching her feet and spreading her toes out. i told auttie that means she's getting ready for her first pedicure already! our friends from church had their 4th daughter friday morning. i haven't seen marlie in person yet. she's got to be cute, though. i saw some pictures and her hair looks a lot darker than her 3 big sisters, but that will probably change. her mom and both of her aunts have dark hair though, so who knows. i'm still enjoying my 4 day weekend. friday my mom and i went to canton and then i took a nap. yesterday we went shopping and then i took a nap. today, after church and the hospital, i dropped k-dogg off at the movies and went shopping. when we got home i took a nap. gotta get rested for the last 4 days of school!
why in the world do i have to teach until june 5??? that's crazy. i'm tired of a lot of my kids. i'm sure a lot of them are tired of their teachers, too! i have to miss frozenfeet's graduation, a day i wasn't sure would ever actually happen! next friday, we have to work until 6. woo hoo. then graduation starts at 8. my first class is graduating! i'm going to the 8th grade graduation, too. someone else will have to watch my classes for me. i taught those kids for two years in a row. i'd go to high school with them if i could. my 7th graders...not so much. one year is more than enough of this class. i am so ready to start my new job. or at least see my room and start getting it ready. i gotta go watch the denver/la game. i hope denver wins!
my mom and i went shopping this afternoon. when we got back to my house we were taking pictures of the flowers around my house and found a bird nest! they must be really new because you can see through the baby birds!
these are from the gardenia bush by our front door. real gardenias smell good, but i don't like anything that is supposed to smell like gardenias!
here are the baby birds! our hydrangea bush looks a lot better this year!
see the snail? it was by the purple flowers under the tree with the bird nest.
i got a new job! it's the weekend. i don't have any plans. i spent most of the day at the park. wednesday is park and skating! friday is choir musical and student vs teacher volleyball game. we've only got 4 weeks of school left. my sister was in an earthquake. i get to see my sister next month. i'll be 30 in about 11 days!
taks is over! yea! yesterday i went to work and didn't work. i sent my kids to the gym to play with the other classes that were down there letting off taks week steam and i talked to my friends. then i left at 11:30 and went to a job interview. whether i get the job or not, i think that was the best interview i've ever had. the people interviewing me were all really nice and friendly and i wasn't nervous or anything. i was just so happy to be at a school that wasn't in a crack house neighborhood! after my interview, i went to get wolverine tickets and shop at target. that experience made me a full-fledged believer in always wearing an undershirt or cami when you try on clothes! i found a really pretty dark teal dress shirt on clearance. there's a reason that really pretty shirt was on clearance. did you know a shirt can make you clausterphobic, anxious, nervous, and contemplating how to become a contortionist??? the shirt went on fine, but once it was on...it wouldn't come off! it was stuck. there was only one button at the top of the neck in the back. it wasn't even buttoned. i twisted and turned and squirmed. i tried to turn the shirt inside out and pull it off. nothing worked! at this point i started freaking out and wondering if i could just rip the shirt enough to get it off and leave it in the dressing room. it wouldn't rip! i finally walked out to the desk and asked one of the women working if they could help me take it off. i am so glad i had on a black tank top under it! i had to hold my arms up over my head like a diver and the target lady peeled the shirt off me. i was so happy to be out of that shirt, but it was kinda embarrassing. but, the target lady told me she had had to help another woman get out of the same shirt earlier this week.
THIS SHIRT IS A TORTURE CHAMBER. DO NOT TRY IT ON!
anyway, after all that, k-dogg and i went to see wolverine. i really liked it. k-dogg said it was boring and stupid because it didn't make sense. i guess he's an x-men purist. i don't know the comic books, so i thought the story was good. this afternoon my mom and i went to see ghosts of girlfriends past. it was pretty much what i was expecting so i guess i got my money's worth. gotta go watch the bulls and the celtics!
i'm a Christian, wife, mom to the most awesome kid...ever, daughter, sister, texan, teacher, survivor of my grandparents :), niece, cousin, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, individual that was probably born in the wrong time. i live in a too-big for me house with my husband and our son and some people think i'm spoiled because my mom cleans our house. but, actually, i was spoiled way before that! i teach 4th grade ela and texas history...yes, that means the dreaded staar test! i like being just a little too weird for people around here, taking pictures, modpodging everything, shopping, and music! (Scout has changed most of my interests, hobbies, and free time!)
